David F Porteous is a writer and social research consultant. He has worked in social research since 2005 and is a certified member of the Market Research Society.

His first novel, Singular (2011), was inspired by being misdiagnosed with cancer. He began writing it in the room where, minutes later, he would be given the news.

David has been a stand-up comic, sketch writer, internet news broadcaster and occasional amateur film-maker. When he was a teenager he wrote poetry - most of which has been destroyed by fire.
